INTO THE UNKNOWN: DOCTORS ON CALL

MAKE WAVES

2021

A team of specially selected emergency doctors and nurses from Singapore General Hospital are rushed out to Kathmandu after a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake devastated Nepal, leaving thousands dead. Driven by emotional testimony, dramatic reconstruction, and gripping archives, this episode explores how the SGH team, embedded within the Singapore Armed Forces mission, treated thousands of patients out of their base in the outskirts of Kathmandu. As thousands more were stranded in remote villages, the team tracked them down for over a week after the earthquake, with aftershocks occurring every few hours, and landslides blocking roads.
