Tom Longmore is an award winning editor with more than seventeen years experience cutting film, TV and commercials, including credits in documentary, drama and factual entertainment for UK and international audiences. He is a passionate storyteller with an excellent sense of pace and emotion, fully proficient in Avid Media Composer and Premiere Pro with his own kit for working remotely or on location, anywhere in the world.
Having discovered the art of editing whilst making music videos as a teenager, Tom studied television at university before honing his craft on the Manchester TV circuit in the last days of tape. After moving to London, Tom’s first big break was as the editor of ‘Behind the Beast’, a feature length documentary about the logistics of Iron Maiden’s 2011 world tour, on which singer Bruce Dickinson piloted the band, crew and their entire stage show around the world in 66 days.
Alongside cutting branded content, documentaries and live music, Tom’s next big move was into scripted features as editor of the 2015 thriller ‘Tank 432’ from exec producer Ben Wheatley, before lending additional editing to 2018’s ‘Redcon-1’ for exec producer Kevin Eastman. His latest feature ‘Paul Dood’s Deadly Lunch Break’ had an all-star British comedy cast and picked up multiple awards at 2021’s SXSW and Toronto After Dark Film Festivals.
Most recently Tom has been cutting a variety of unscripted formats for the UK broadcasters including BBC2’s ‘Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes’, ITV2’s ‘Emergency Nurses’ and Channel 5’s ‘Cold Case Killers’; In his spare time he is a musician, keen gardener and cat lover.
